It helped define the story arc and plotline.

With the pace of my ADHD brain, I needed ‘anchors’. Things to pull me back into the moment.

I created a few different ‘anchors’, and naming chapters was one of them.

Many of these names are kind of tongue in cheek, and the tone of that felt right, and very me.

They’re unserious, which is super relatable, I think. A little injection of silly goose, I ‘spose.

I think it’d be fair to say I approached the book much how I imagine a musician approaches writing an album.

Each track is part of a collection that, when put together, makes an album.

These chapters all provide a different feeling and moment, but together, they take the reader through a beautiful story.

There is a separate nature to each of them, and I loved the image in my mind of the community surrounding this book being able to name their favourite chapter.

That way, you can come back to those chapters by title, not just a number.
